Frequently Asked Questions
Who can enter?
We welcome all Halton based organisations and Halton Chamber Members: micro, small, medium or large corporations, B2B or B2C. No matter the size, scope or sector of your organisation, if you’ve done great work to improve your business, these awards are for you!
How do I apply?
Applying is simple and we’ve designed the process to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Just download the application form from the website, choose the categories that best fit your achievements and complete the short entry form. The forms are in Word so you can save your progress as you go, so there’s no rush to finish in one sitting. Once you’re happy with your application, email the completed form along with your business’ logo and you’re in the running. We can’t wait to hear your story and celebrate what you’ve achieved across Halton’s brilliant business community.
Do I need to provide financial information?
Providing financial information is completely optional. The judges understand that not every organisation is able or comfortable to share detailed figures, and that’s absolutely fine – your entry will still be fully scored against the published criteria.
That said, including basic financials can make it easier for our judges to understand the scale and context of your achievements, especially in categories where growth, resilience or impact are being assessed. If you’re happy to include them, great. If not, don’t worry — you should still apply and you can still win!
What makes a winning entry?
Come along to one of our ‘Hints & Tips’ sessions when we’ll share judges feedback and provide some examples of how organisations have made sure their applications have stood out in the past.
Do I have to pay to enter the Awards?
No, the Halton Business Awards are free to enter and attend. If you are shortlisted as a finalist, you will receive one free ticket per shortlisted place. Additional tickets are available to purchase.
How many categories can I enter?
You may enter as many categories as you’d like and multiple entries are encouraged.
Organisations may submit entries into multiple categories; however, to ensure fairness and balance across the Awards programme if an organisation ranks highly in more than three categories, they will only be shortlisted in the three in which they achieve their highest overall ranking (excluding individual awards).
Who are the judges?
Every category is assessed by an independent panel of judges. The judging panel is made up of independent professionals with relevant expertise across business, leadership and community impact. To protect the integrity of the process and avoid any undue influence, we do not publish the names of judges. All judges follow a strict scoring framework and a conflict‑of‑interest policy. Judges’ decisions are final and based on published criteria.
When will the shortlist be announced?
The shortlist will be published by the 31st March 2026. All applicants will receive an email detailing the outcome of their application/s.
When will the Awards ceremony take place?
The Gala Dinner celebration will be held on the 12th June 2026 at the DCBL Stadium, Widnes.
How do I book tickets for the ceremony?
Tickets can be purchased by emailing events@haltonchamber.co.uk. Please inform us of any accessibility or dietary requirements at least 7 days before the event.
Who can see my entry?
Your written entries are confidential and only our judging panels and Chamber administrators can see your entries. Your entry will be treated confidentially and stored in accordance with GDPR.
When do I need to submit my application?
Our deadline for applications is clearly marked on the Awards entry page, and we encourage you to get your submission in before then so our judges have plenty of time to enjoy your story. That said, we know that crafting the perfect entry can sometimes take a little longer than planned. If you’re still putting the final touches on your application as the deadline approaches, just get in touch and let us know. We’re here to help you every step of the way and will always do our best to support you.
How can I support or sponsor the Awards?
This is a Borough wide celebration and we’d love for you to be involved. Please get in touch on events@haltonchamber.co.uk, 0333 358 3480 or find out more by visiting our dedicated sponsor page.
Do I need to be a Halton Chamber Member to enter?
No, not at all! The Awards are open to everyone, so long as you’re based in the Borough
